Cameron Slack

A seasoned professional Environmental Consultant with over 20 years of experience Cameron has a wide range of experience from construction environmental management, ecological development assessment to landuse planning in Queensland. Cameron has extensive experience with delivery of road project environmental assessments and approvals which include the Cairns Significant Projects and Cape York Regional Package projects. Cameron has been integral for delivery of these projects from inception planning through review of designs and management of contractors through inspections and audits.
Cameron has extensive experience in the implementation of sustainability aspects of development and is a registered ISAP under the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia (ISCA). Renewable energy projects are of particular interest in this space and Cameron is in a unique position to advise on policy interpretations and requirements to advise private and Government clients to maximise social, economic and environmental pillars associated with their projects. Cameron has a strong background in review of environmental legislation and indepth understanding of approvals processes at a State and Commonwealth level.
Cameron’s roots in ecology and ecological assessment has exposed him to much of Far North Queensland, Cape York, North Western Queensland and the Torres Straits. His knowledge of these areas is extensive and proven key for sustainable use of resources for development such as roads, electrical infrastructure and housing projects. Cameron is an SQP for preparing flora surveys and has bolstered Queensland Museum Collections for the Torres Strait Islands through extensive field work in the area.
A key focus on water and water quality has also underpinned successful delivery of development projects. Cameron has provided solutions for rehabilitation of riparian areas as well as treatments for Water Sensitive Urban Design to achieve reduction targets to demonstrate achievement of government policy which in particular focuses on protection of the Great Barrier Reef. This has included review and guidance of water quality modelling as well as limnotic investigations for developments and preparation of environmental monitoring programs and compliance solutions.

Senior Environmental Scientist
Ben has a decade experience in environmental planning, impact studies and project management of significant Infrastructure, Urban Growth and Resource industry projects.
Ben is R2G’s recognised senior technical expert in all things soils and water, holding a Certified Practitioner in Erosion and Sediment Control (associate level) accreditation.
Across Ben’s career he has performed roles as a consultant and regulator, providing him with a multifaceted experience base which centres around knowledge of regulatory requirements and policy, along with scientific interpretation and reporting skills.
This combination results in a demonstrated ability to deliver high quality, cost effective, practical solutions to best meet clients objectives. Ben is keen to put his well honed talents into action on your project and create a solution everyone can be proud of.
